- Gather fallen leaves, acorns, pinecones, and sticks from your yard. Arrange them in a garland across the mantel or place them in a vase.
- Make a ribbon garland by cutting strips of burlap, lace, and patterned fall fabrics and tying them together. Drape across the mantel.
- Fill urns or vases with mini pumpkins, gourds, and flowers like mums or sunflowers. Flank the mantel with the filled vases.
- Make a fall wreath using grapevines, mini pinecones, faux leaves, and ribbons. Hang the wreath prominently on the mantel.
- Arrange votive candles and tea lights along the mantel and light them to create a cozy glow.
- Stack wood logs or birch slices on the ends of the mantel for a rustic touch.
- Drape the mantel with warm-colored fabric like red, orange, brown, or gold. Let the fabric hang down on either side.
